May 312014

On May 31, 2014 I competed in the MatShark RGV Summer Open. At the age of 14, I competed in the adult male 140-155 pound blue belt division. I weighed in at 155 pounds. I won 1st place in both the gi and nogi divisions. I won the bronze medal in the adult male nogi absolute intermediate division. In one of my nogi absolute matches I was up in points 8 to 2 against an opponent who competed in the 205 pound bracket when I was disqualified with about 5 seconds to go in the match due to a knee reap. Thank you to Gabriel Ambriz, Patrick Chancey, Joe Vela, Dustin Garcia and everyone who coached me during this tournament.
